DESIGN

  • Typographic changes in bold or italic in some programs can lead to unexpected results. It is always better to use the correct typography (ex: Arial Bold, Arial Italic…) without making these kind of modifications.
  • Design applications can trace fonts. You would better send us the documents with already traced fonts in order to avoid compatibility problems.
  • Avoid using fonts below 7 points as well as extremely thin lines.
  • It is important to revise the orthography and composition of documents before sending them. Also, check that it is the latest saved version of that file. We avoid any responsibility in errors due to sent documents by clients. For further information, please go to General Conditions.
  • Documents may be composed of various pages (do not use a page for each document).
  • The size of the document must be the same as the page. The 9.3 x 5.5 cm and 8.5 x 5.5 cm (VISA). A brochure, 15 x 21. A DIN A4 letter, 21 x 29.7 cm. A letter envelope, 11.5 x 22.5 cm and triptychs, A4 size (being each part 10 x 21 cm, except for the hidden part of the triptych when it is closed, which is 9.7 x 21 cm).
  • If the document has indentation (extra size of the background of the design around the page), this must be 2mm wider and 2mm larger in small documents and 4mm in large documents. That is, if you want to create a 10 x 15 document with a background image or color, this should be 10.4 x 15.4 cm, 2mm extra each side (right and left, up and down). This is a measurement to get sure that there is no blank paper after cutting process, since paper-cutters may have a little variation margin.
  • In the case of inserting images from the Internet, take into account that these images usually have a low resolution (72 points per inch). Therefore, we dissuade you from using it unless the image is large enough to reduce it to a 60 or 70% for inserting it in your document.


GRAPHIC FORMATS

  • Create your color images in CMYK or RGB modes, but never in indexed color, duotone, multi canal... .
  • If you create images with Photoshop, make sure to remove Alpha Channels and to set up layers instead.
  • Ensure yourself that the image has a minimum resolution of 300 points per inch. A higher resolution is not equal to higher quality, but it will be a too heavy file.

 

DOCUMENT FORMATS

  • We work both with Macintosh and Windows.
  • It is advisable to create your documents with graphic design applications. We accept Adobe PageMaker, Coral Draw, Macromedia Freehand, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Quark Xpress…or you can also send it through a Power Point Presentation or in Word format.
  • It is also possible for you to export the document as an image. In this case, admissible formats are: TIFF, high quality JEPG, EPS, PDF or PSD.

 

ATTACHMENTS

  • Attach the letter types if you have not been able to trace them.
  • Compress (ZIP, RAR, SIT, ACE) the files to be send in order to avoid a possible alteration of the document during the sending process.
  • The images or graphics in your document must always be linked, never inlaid (avoid copy/attach). Therefore, when you send us your documents, check you have attached the images. Microsoft Word inlays images into documents and this may cause some problems when printing. Because of this, it is recommended to use graphic design programs for your designs.
  • Example: for sending a document designed with Corel Draw, containing 2 images and having used Arial, Memphis and Kabel fonts, you should create a ZIP document which includes the file .cdr, the 2 images and the fonts used (that should be copied from the folder "Fonts" from the "Panel of Control").
